a picture a day

Instead of a resolution I made a goal for myself for the new year. I was a little inspired by watching Julie and Julia and Julie's decision to cook all the recipe's in one year. I love to cook but I also love photography. But I feel like I am always a step behind the technology...I don't own a "real" digital camera yet-that is the one I want...a Nikon.

So I have decided to do a picture a day for 2010. This will make me take pictures even if it it only one a day. I am using whatever digital cameras I can find in the house until I can afford my dream camera.

Here are the first 2, for Jan 1st and 2nd....

Thanksgiving....

A new tradition began this year. Our extended family usually celebrates Thanksgiving with about 75 of our relatives. Times are changing and loved ones are passing away. This year we celebrated with "only" 20 close relatives. Look at how much food we had!!

vacation memories

This photo was taken about 10 years ago near Grayton Beach, Florida. The kids in the photo are cousins and they are exploring a freshwater creek that runs from a lake to the ocean. They saw crabs and fish and enjoyed snorkeling and building sandcastles on the creek bank.
